Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from AVMA-accredited school.
• Active veterinary license in the state.
• Current DEA license.
• Current Controlled Substance License, if applicable.
• USDA Category I Accreditation (minimum).

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care by performing examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate with referral hospitals for continuity of care.
• Perform routine and complex surgical procedures (spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory, mass removals).
• Perform dental procedures including full dental examinations and extractions.
• Document observations, exams and diagnoses in the medical record.
• Participate in rounds and disseminate knowledge to staff to improve care.
