An established and growing 24-hour veterinary hospital in Marin County is seeking a full-time board-certified Criticalist. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment with a close-knit team of specialists. You will be responsible for providing exceptional inpatient care and mentoring support staff and interns. The hospital is moving to a new, state-of-the-art facility in February 2025, featuring advanced diagnostic equipment and a focus on staff wellness. If you are passionate about veterinary medicine and client service, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a thriving practice.
The Pet Emergency & Specialty Center of Marin is looking to add a full-time board-certified or residency-trained Criticalist to our well-established and growing 24-hour hospital.
About Us:
We are located in Marin County, about 15 minutes north of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. We're less than an hour's drive to Napa Valley, several bay and ocean beaches, Redwood forests, and less than 4 hours from Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park.
Our hospital has been here for 25 years, and our growing team consists of 15 experienced Emergency doctors (most with 10+ years’ experience), 2 Criticalists, 2 Internists, 2 Surgeons, an in-house full-time Radiologist, a Neurologist, an Oncologist, a Cardiologist, and an Ophthalmologist. We also have an Emergency Veterinarian training program (for new graduates) and will be starting a rotating internship program in 2025.
We're a close team, with many of us having been at PESCM for several years. In February 2025, we will move into an expansive new 30,000 sq. ft. building we've been able to design for our needs. The hospital will feature a ton of natural light and hilltop views of the San Rafael Valley, Hallmarq MRI, 128-slice CT, two x-ray units, 5 ORs, a central ICU, a GE fluoroscopy unit, and a dedicated room for staff wellness. We have a Hamilton- C3 ventilator, 6 Snyder oxygen units, a VCM machine, an in-house Blood Bank, and standard equipment needed to provide high-quality care to our patients in the ICU.
The Role:
We are seeking a full-time Criticalist to join our growing Critical Care Department. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the other specialists and Emergency team to provide high-level inpatient care and consultations. The specifics of the role will be developed with the candidate and the current Critical Care team but will span daytime to evening hours with some shared weekend duties. The Critical Care department primarily manages hospitalized patients who are critical in nature, and in collaboration with the different specialties. We are seeking a candidate who has a passion for mentoring and growing their support staff, interns, and other trainees, and understands the importance of providing excellent client service.
Benefits and Compensation:
Base Pay:
