Heartstrings Pet Hospice in Austin, TX seeks an Associate Veterinarian to provide in-home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care. You’ll work independently in the field while supported by a collaborative leadership team and strong operational infrastructure.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD/BVMS from an accredited veterinary school.
• Active veterinary license in the state of practice.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Ability to work some weekends on rotating schedule.
• Background check and MVR will be performed post-hire.

Position Overview

As an Associate Veterinarian with Heartstrings Pet Hospice, you will provide compassionate, gentle in‑home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care. You'll work independently in the field while being fully supported by a collaborative medical leadership team, dedicated Veterinary Care Specialists (VCS), and strong operational infrastructure. Requirements

Veterinarian Core Responsibilities

• Provide in-home euthanasia and hospice care for geriatric and terminally ill pets
• Guide families in making end-of-life decisions for their pets
• Build relationships with local veterinary clinics, serving as an extension of their excellent care

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS) from an accredited veterinary school
• Active (or ability to obtain) veterinary license in the state of practice
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license
• Availability to work some weekends as part of a rotating schedule
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance
• Candidates will be subject to a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check post-hire and prior to their associated start date
