U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Bedford VA Medical Center, Bedford, MA, seeks a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist to provide complex rehabilitation, support and services to Veterans aiming to improve vocational functioning.

The role requires specialized experience in occupational information, counseling, and resources for disabled or disadvantaged individuals. The position may be filled at GS-9 or GS-11 level, with pathways through education substitution or combined experience.

Qualificações

• Specialized experience in obtaining and applying occupational information for people with disabilities.
• Knowledge of vocational rehabilitation problems, resources, and adjustment issues for the disabled or disadvantaged.
• Experience in vocational guidance or teaching in rehab programs; experience with placement or employment services.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with individualized assessments to determine level of support necessary for patients.
• Assist with the development of employment opportunities through community-based job development.
• Locate, evaluate, and recommend training facilities for vocational rehabilitation participants.
• Monitor progress and maintain outcomes data to improve program operations.
