Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Social Worker to support Veterans and families across Alaska VA facilities. This open continuous announcement enables referrals as needed; positions may be extended or opened regionally as vacancies arise.

The role requires an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, state licensure eligible for independent practice, and experience with psychosocial assessment, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration to improve Veteran outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must possess a master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's level.
• Experience with psychosocial assessments and treatment planning for Veterans preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs case finding and outreach to identify psychosocial needs.
• Implements treatment modalities for individuals, families, and groups.
• Provides counseling or psychotherapy and conducts psychosocial assessments.
• Coordinates community-based services and referrals with VA and other agencies.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams to develop and implement plans.
