Job summary

U.S. VETS is seeking an Outreach Specialist to connect veterans experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness to housing and comprehensive support services.

This role focuses on publicizing services, coordinating referrals, and supporting veterans in access to housing and care. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field, strong communication, and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field.
• Strong oral, written, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work within a team.

Responsibilities

• Publicize U.S. VETS services by visiting shelters, treatment programs, transitional housing, and other locations.
• Maintain a database of client information and referrals to track veterans and schedule screenings.
• Coordinate transportation for veterans to U.S. VETS sites and program events.
• Produce weekly reports of veterans encountered by the outreach team.
