Dept of Veterans Services is seeking a Relief Occupational Therapist to establish and deliver skilled OT services at the Davis & McDaniel Vet Care Ctr in Virginia. Qualifications

• Knowledge of occupational therapy and developmental disabilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to interact in a professional manner with clients, staff, families and community personnel.
• Ability to use Computer application software.
• Ability to lead and coordinate work of the rehab. department, and cross-functional departments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Establishes skilled OT treatment plans for residents; conducts skilled OT services including modalities, exercises, ADL training, and equipment.
• Completes required documentation for Medicare/Medicaid and agency policies; ensures timely assessments and cost information flow.
• Provides training for OT related services and in-service training to departmental staff; participates in mandatory trainings.
• Reviews medical records and gathers assessment information; conducts initial evaluations and re-certifications as needed.
• Attends department meetings; maintains safe work environment; supports fall prevention and equipment needs.
