The Veterans Health Administration located at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to perform a wide range of radiographic exams, including extremities, chest, abdomen, spine, fluoroscopy, operating room, and portable radiology.

The technologist works independently with general supervision, ensuring patient safety and image quality while collaborating with radiology staff and surgeons as needed.

Qualifications

  • Note: Only education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiographic examinations of the skull, torso and extremities for diagnosis of illness or injuries.
  • Explains exams to patients in terms they understand and notes potential hazards; adheres to radiation safety procedures.
  • Maintains records and files of exams, and enters patient data in the Radiology Information System and HIS-RIS interface.
