Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Housing and Urban Development Department HUD/VASH program seeks a Social Worker to provide independent-level clinical case management for chronically homeless Veterans pursuing HUD/VASH or Tenant-Based Vouchers to achieve housing stability.

Applicants may be tentatively selected pending meeting all education and licensure requirements; grandfather provisions apply for those already in VA roles under the standard.

Qualifications

• Citizen of the United States.
• Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Licensed or certified to independently practice social work at the master's level (VA licensure exception noted).
• Qualified for GS-9 or GS-11 social worker role with relevant experience and licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide Clinical Case Management for chronically homeless Veterans.
• Support housing stability through HUD/VASH and Housing Choice Voucher programs.
• Engage Veterans, families, and caregivers with holistic, patient-centered care.
• Coordinate services with community agencies and interdisciplinary teams.
