Tennessee State Veterans Homes is seeking a Dietary Aide PRN to support a fast-paced nursing facility in Humboldt, TN. You will assist in food preparation, serve meals, and maintain dining and kitchen cleanliness, following established menus and resident care standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to menu and recipes for the served portions.
• Set up dining room as instructed and serve meals to residents in a timely manner.
• Clean resident eating areas, work areas, equipment and utensils after meals.
• Collect dirty dishes, wash equipment, carts, dishes and utensils.
• Maintain sanitation and safety procedures and cooperate with staff and providers.

A Dietary Aide PRN (as needed) is needed at an exciting and face-paced nursing facility in Humboldt, TN.

We are currently looking for Dietary Aides who will assist in the preparation of food in quantities according to the menu, recipe and number of persons to be served, including setting up dining room as instructed and prepares items such as salads and beverages. Takes resident orders and serves meals to residents in a timely manner. Cleans resident eating areas, work areas, equipment and utensils according to the proper procedures, including collecting and stacking dirty dishes on cart and returns cart to kitchen, washing cooking equipment, carts, pots, pans, dishes and utensils, cleaning eating and prep surfaces, sweeping and moping floor, removing garbage, storing food in designated areas. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, resident’s representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience in a dietary environment at a large establishment; health care experience preferred. Previous knowledge and care of food service equipment is preferred not required will train right individual.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or equivalent preferred and previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred
