Job summary

Valor Healthcare is seeking independent contractors (MD/DO, NP, or PA) to perform Compensation & Pension examinations for Veterans applying for VA disability. The role involves reviewing claims, conducting focused assessments, and producing reports under VA guidelines.

Exams are scheduled on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with compensation based on DBQ levels. Training, no-show, and follow-up reimbursements apply.

Qualifications

• MD/DO license and degree from an accredited medical school; board certification preferred.
• NP: CCNE/ACEN-accredited program or board certification.
• PA: ARC-PA-accredited program or board certification.
• Unrestricted MD/DO/NP/PA license in any US state.
• Minimum 1 year of MD/DO/NP/PA experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Military experience preferred.
• Knowledge of VA guidelines and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical disability exams for Veterans by reviewing history and performing focused physical assessments.
• Review medical records and supporting documentation to understand health status.
• Provide evidence-based medical opinions on conditions' impact on work and daily activities.
• Use case management system to organize workload, submit findings, and communicate with QA team.
• Collaborate with clinicians and specialists to document reports meeting VA guidelines.
