Job summary

Volunteers of America in Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker to support the Fresh Start program and care for veteran residents. You will assist with meal preparation and serving, and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen and cafeteria environment.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or equivalent and has at least two years of food service experience. Supervisory experience is a plus, and veterans are encouraged to apply to join a compassionate team serving those in

• Ability to prepare and serve portion-controlled, nutritious meals and maintain cleanliness and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the overall responsibility of preparing and serving meals to veteran residents.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen and cafeteria.
• Perform a variety of food preparation duties other than cooking.
• This position is specific to helping veterans.
