Job summary

The Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, a skilled nursing facility, is recruiting a Nurse Aide State Registered I for the Commonwealth of Kentucky in Wilmore. Join a team dedicated to caring for Kentucky’s Veterans and helping them maintain independence and dignity.

Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, meals, and daily care, recording vital signs and specimen collection, and providing compassionate resident support.

Qualifications

• Must possess current registration with the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry as administered by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and Kentucky Board of Nursing.
• Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personnel hygiene such as bathing, dental and oral care, and hair and nail care.
• Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions by escorting to the bathroom, providing bedpan or portable commodes. Check and record intake and output flow charts.
• Assist with meals and nourishment for residents requiring assistance and restorative dining.
• Perform total physical care to include assisting with meals, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans.
• Measure and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration, and height, as instructed.
• Collect and label specimens for laboratory analysis.
