Job summary

The Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System is seeking one Nursing Assistant to provide basic care to Veterans with acute or chronic conditions in diverse settings. Responsibilities include assisting nursing staff, monitoring patient needs, supporting daily living activities, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for Veterans.

Qualifications include six months general experience or one year of education related to nursing care, English proficiency, and readiness for GS-3 to GS-5 grade

Qualifications

• Citizenship required; U.S. citizen or eligible for appointment under VA policy
• Experience or education: six months general experience, or one year of education above high school with nursing-related courses
• English language proficiency in speaking and writing as per VA standards
• GS-3 to GS-5 progression criteria and KSAs including patient care, communication, and rapid response

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care to Veterans in diverse settings under supervision
• Assist with daily living activities and monitor patient needs
• Observe and report patient status and respond to changes in condition
• Operate and maintain simple nursing equipment and ensure patient safety
• Coordinate with RN and health team to support care plans
• Uphold patient privacy and safety standards
