Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor to provide counseling and therapy in the Shelbyville, IN outpatient Mental Health Clinic. You will work with the BHIP Team to assess psychosocial problems and facilitate access to resources to minimize stressors for Veterans.

Applicants must have a CACREP-accredited degree and licensure to practice LMHC, with English proficiency and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Applicants pending completion of requirements may be referred but not hired until met.
• Must be U.S. citizen and proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based counseling and/or psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families in collaboration with multidisciplinary staff.
• Provide group counseling services for Veterans seeking mental health treatment.
• Consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues.
• Accept additional assignments to meet program goals or Veteran needs.
• Complete all clinical charting and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
