Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and electronic case management systems.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary client contact throughout the claims and appeals process.
• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status, development needs, and deadlines.
• Document all client interactions and case activity in the firm's case management system.
• Assist clients in understanding the VA claims and appeals process.
• Review service treatment records, VA medical records, personnel records, and private medical records.
• Identify potentially service-connected conditions and relevant supporting evidence.
• Develop evidence checklists and assist clients in obtaining required documentation.
• Organize records and create case summaries for attorney review.
• Assist clients in preparing lay statements and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate the collection of buddy statements and witness statements.
• Prepare draft claim development materials for attorney review.
• Assist in gathering evidence related to secondary service connection and increased-rating claims.
• Educate clients on the purpose and process of VA Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations.
• Assist clients in understanding the functional impact information relevant to their claims.
• Prepare clients for examinations and follow-up development requirements.
• Track outstanding development items and follow-up tasks.
• Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of assigned work.
• Maintain accurate and organized electronic files.
• Assist attorneys and accredited representatives with case preparation and workflow management.
