Job summary

Govtranz in Knoxville is seeking a Veteran Transport Specialist to provide safe and reliable transportation to veterans. You will operate company vehicles, assist passengers with mobility aids, and adhere to schedules while maintaining vehicle safety.

The role requires a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends. A pre-employment background check with MVR and drug screen is mandatory, with housing/vehicle provisions at the residence

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills with passengers and dispatch.
• Ability to store a company-designated passenger van at your residence with the Govtranz logo.
• Willingness to work various shift hours and assigned days to accommodate veterans' transportation needs.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check with MVR and drug screen.
• Ability to provide housing for a vehicle at your residence with company branding.

Responsibilities

• Operate a company-provided shuttle/sedan safely and courteously.
• Transport disabled clients within the designated service area and schedule.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues promptly.
• Assist passengers, including those using mobility aids, and secure wheelchairs/scooters.
• Maintain communication with dispatch and complete written reports for incidents.
• Provide guidance on rules and regulations to ensure safe travel.
