Job summary

Easter Seals Greater Houston is seeking a Veteran Peer Specialist (Part-Time) to support the Veterans Program in Houston, TX. The role involves providing peer support to veterans and families, helping them build resilience and connect to resources within a supportive team environment.

The position is part-time (20–25 hours/week) with some evenings/weekends required and a hybrid Houston, TX location. Compensation is $15–$20 per hour, with CPS certification or eligibility to obtain within 90 days

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Military Veteran.
• Lived experience with a mental health condition and active participation in recovery.
• Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) or eligible to obtain (required within 90 days of hire).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one peer support and assist clients in setting recovery goals.
• Facilitate or coordinate peer support and psychoeducational groups.
• Connect clients to community resources and support service navigation.
• Participate in outreach and represent the Veterans Program.
• Maintain timely documentation and complete data entry in required systems.
• Collaborate with team members and attend meetings/supervision.
