Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. military Veteran as defined by statute.
• Time-in-grade requirements apply for current Federal employees.
• DD-214 and Peer Specialist Certification must be provided with the application.

Responsibilities

• Participates in rehabilitation treatment as an interdisciplinary team member.
• Uses personal recovery experience to coach Veterans in coping and self-management.
• Provides counseling to support peers in mental health recovery.
• Assists Veterans in articulating goals for recovery and personal wellness.
• Documents progress and reports concerns to the treatment team in a timely manner.
• May provide crisis intervention and guide Veterans to VA and community supports.
