Job summary

PMHCC in Philadelphia seeks a Forensic Veteran Certified Peer Specialist to support veterans in their recovery and reintegration within the VIU of DBHIDS.

You will promote self-advocacy, assist with WRAP plans, and connect veterans to community resources, housing, and services while collaborating with the VIU Manager to deliver recovery-focused supports in a jail-to-community continuum.

Qualifications

• Must be a Veteran.
• Must have completed Certified Peer Specialist or Certified Recovery Specialist training.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work with diverse populations and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with VIU Manager to provide supportive services to Veterans referred to DBHIDS.
• Assist in development of forensic recovery plans and WRAPs for Veterans with behavioral health challenges.
• Support Veterans to develop independent living skills through referrals to professional agencies and other support strategies.
• Perform outreach to community resources and connect Veterans to services.
• Promote knowledge of available service options and community resources.
• Provide opportunities for Veterans to direct their recovery and build skills for self-management.
• Facilitate development of self-worth and wellness in Veterans.
• Track project outcomes and monitor Veterans progress in treatment.
