Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Social Worker (Program Coordinator) to lead the Veteran Directed Care (VDC) program in Lexington.

The role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising staff, ensuring adherence to VA standards, and delivering quarterly reports and program evaluations. Required are a CSWE-accredited MSW, state licensure to practice, and strong leadership in multidisciplinary settings.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: U.S. citizen.
• English proficiency: strong spoken and written English.
• Master's degree in social work from CSWE-accredited program required.
• Licensure/certification by a state to independently practice social work at the master’s level required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development, management, operations and evaluation of the Veteran Directed Care program.
• Coordinate clinical and support staff work and ensure adherence to program directives and standards.
• Oversee eligibility, approval, modification and recertification of services for Veterans in the program.
• Track consultations and ensure timely action per VA policies; manage budgets and prepare reports for leadership.
• Conduct outreach to sites and provide education to VA staff on policy changes and program procedures.
