Job summary

Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) in New York is seeking Military Veterans with mechanical experience to begin a rewarding career as an Automotive Service Technician. This apprenticeship program offers hands-on experience, training, and tools needed for certification. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing vehicles, performing inspections, and maintaining documentation. Candidates must have an Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service and a valid driver's license; strong troubleshooting skills are preferred. Program includes full-time employment and training support through GI Bill®.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field.
• Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines and electrical systems.
• Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics using Kia diagnostic procedures.
• Complete repair orders and warranty documentation.
• Test drive vehicles to verify repair quality.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
