Job summary

Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) is seeking Military Veterans with mechanical experience for the Automotive Service Technician position. This one-year apprenticeship provides hands-on experience at Kia dealerships, leading to Kia Service Technician certification. Participants gain support needed to develop into skilled technicians while receiving a Monthly Housing Allowance through the GI Bill. Responsibilities include diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing Kia vehicles. Candidates should have a strong background in mechanical fields and be able to work in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field.
• Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles, including engines and transmissions.
• Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics using Kia diagnostic procedures.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors to ensure a positive customer experience.

Skills

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment

Education

Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
