Doc-Side Veterinary Medical Center in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our skilled team. This full-time position offers growth in a collaborative hospital that values technicians and their professional development.

You will build client relationships, assist with examinations and surgeries, perform venipuncture and catheter placement, monitor anesthesia, and support a wide range of diagnostic and preventive care. A positive, team-oriented attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Responsibilities include building client relationships and delivering compassionate patient care.
• Techs must handle and restrain dogs, cats, and exotic patients with safety.
• Obtain patient histories and monitor vital signs.
• Assist with examinations, treatments, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters, administer SQ/IV medications.
• Assist with surgical procedures and dental care including radiographs.
• Run in-house lab tests and assist with radiographic quality control.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and teammates to ensure outstanding care.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships with clients while delivering compassionate patient care
• Safely handle and restrain dogs, cats, and exotic patients
• Obtain patient histories and collect vital signs
• Assist with examinations and treatment plans
• Perform venipuncture and place intravenous catheters
• Administer medications (SQ and IV)
• Monitor patients under anesthesia
• Assist with surgical procedures
• Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
• Apply bandages and provide nursing care
• Run in-house laboratory diagnostics and obtain quality radiographs
• Collaborate with veterinarians and teammates to provide outstanding medical care
