Job summary

ASPCA is seeking a Veterinary Technology Student Ambassador at LaGuardia Community College to educate peers about ASPCA programs, externships, and resources. You will engage with student groups, promote campus events, and provide logistical support for on-campus activities.

The role emphasizes autonomous work, relationship-building, and effective communication while aligning with ASPCA core values and mission to improve animal welfare.

Qualifications

• In good academic standing.
• Active membership in at least one student group related to ASPCA work.
• Not currently a student ambassador for another veterinary or animal welfare org.
• Ability to dedicate an average of 3 hours a week during the semester.
• Ability to work independently (self-starter).
• High level of maturity and professionalism.
• Access to a computer for virtual meetings and email correspondence.
• Ability to temporarily store informational and promotional items on campus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a dedicated representative of the ASPCA at LaGuardia Community College.
• Stay informed about ASPCA externships and resources.
• Build relationships with veterinary technology students and student groups on campus.
• Act as a resource for students seeking ASPCA information, externships, resources, and career paths.
• Coordinate information on campus events with the ASPCA Campus Relations Senior Manager.
• Assist in planning and executing campus events and workshops.
• Present opportunities to student groups and promote events.
