Job summary

Qualifications

• Assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
• Understanding of medical terminology and products.
• Safe and fear-free animal restraint/handling.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed.
• Running lab diagnostics and radiology techniques (including dental).
• Phlebotomy skills and catheter placement.
• Appropriate record keeping and client education.
• Anesthesia monitoring including pre and post-op.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
• Run lab diagnostics and perform radiology techniques (including dental).
• Perform phlebotomy and catheter placements as needed.
• Maintain sterilization of hospital and equipment.
• Provide education for clients through effective communication.
• Monitor anesthesia during procedures and recoveries.
• Maintain equipment and accurate patient records.
