Job description
Oakton Animal Hospital is a full‑service animal hospital that welcomes emergency treatment cases and pet patients needing routine medical, surgical, and dental care. Our hospital is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). This professional organization requires that our hospital meet the highest standards of excellence for the practice of veterinary medicine. It also requires that our hospital be inspected periodically in order to maintain our accreditation.
Come extern with us! Heartland Veterinary Partners' Externship Program works to provide 1st‑4th year veterinary students with hands‑on experience and mentorship to help them "practice ready" by their first day in practice. Externships are typically 2 weeks long and Heartland will cover the cost of lodging if needed. Length of externship is flexible and we can support your preceptorship documentation as well.
- Must be currently enrolled in an AVMA Accredited Veterinary School
- Must be able to provide student PLIT
