Job summary

Caring Hands Animal Hospital - Tenleytown in Washington, DC invites veterinary students to participate in its DVM externship/preceptorship program. The externships run two to eight weeks, with a typical length of two or three weeks, and include days, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in an accredited DVM program.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must carry professional liability insurance (AVMA PLIT) for coverage.

Responsibilities

• Gather histories, perform physical examinations, and develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans under supervision.
• Assist in surgeries and manage medical cases under mentor supervision.
• Contribute to client communication, wellness care, and medical record documentation.
