Best Care Pet Hospital offers a DVM student externship/preceptorship to help veterinary students gain hands-on experience in a small animal practice. Externs rotate under supervision for 2–8 weeks, with a mentor guiding case work and client interactions, and a weekly stipend of $250.

Participants should be enrolled in an accredited DVM program, be authorized to work in the United States, and carry AVMA PLIT liability insurance.

• You must carry professional liability insurance (AVMA PLIT) – coverage required with your application.

Responsabilidades

• Gather histories and perform physical examinations under supervision.
• Develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans.
• Scrub in to surgery and assist in medical case management.
• Provide wellness care and develop client communication skills.
• Prepare and maintain medical records (SOAPs) within daily practice timelines.
