Job summary

Western Veterinary Partners externship program allows veterinary students to gain valuable real-world experience by taking what you’ve learned in the classroom and bringing it to the clinic. Veterinary Students in any grade can apply for an externship with a WVP Practice as part of their clinical year externship blocks or for informal externship experience.

As an extern, you’ll gain hands-on experience under supervision, learning practice management, client communication, and case ownership.

Qualifications

• Veterinary students in any grade may apply for externship.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience in practice management including client communication, gathering histories, performing exams, reviewing estimates, and creating treatment plans.
• Observe/assist or perform surgical procedures including dental procedures as appropriate under supervision.
