Job summary

The University of Florida seeks a Federal Work Study Student Assistant in the Veterinary Forensic Sciences Laboratory on Main Campus (Gainesville, FL). You will support both laboratory and administrative operations in a fast-paced forensic environment, gaining hands-on experience with real-case workflows and research activities.

Expect approximately 10 hours per week, on-site, with responsibilities spanning inventory, audits, meeting preparation, and data management.

Qualifications

• Must be a current UF student.
• Must be eligible for Fall semester Federal Work Study.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory and organization of laboratory supplies and consumables.
• Assist with routine laboratory audits and quality control tracking.
• Support scheduling and coordination of meetings, including material preparation.
• Prepare, edit, and manage documents, spreadsheets, and internal reports.
• Assist with daily administrative operations including filing, photocopying, minutes, and communications.
• Support coordination of VFSL events, trainings, and outreach activities.
• Assist with data organization and basic geospatial mapping using ArcGIS.
