Job summary

Main Street Animal Hospital - Doylestown is offering a veterinary externship for current veterinary students in a small animal practice in Doylestown, PA. You will work closely with a supervising veterinarian to gain hands-on experience in history taking, exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgical observation or assistance.

Externs will also develop communication skills with the medical team, staff, and clients, and may participate for two to eight weeks depending on

• Must be a veterinary student enrolled in an accredited program.
• Externship eligibility and interest in small animal practice.
• Strong communication with medical team and clients.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical exams.
• Create treatment plans and order/interpret diagnostics.
• Assist or perform dental procedures as needed.
• Observe or assist in surgeries and manage medical cases.
