Job summary

Elanco is seeking a Clinical Development Scientist for Companion Animal Health to lead the planning, execution, and reporting of clinical studies for vaccines and therapeutics. You will design studies from early development through regulatory approval, partnering with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Marketing.

The role emphasizes collaboration, scientific leadership, and ensuring compliance with global standards. Travel and relocation may be required as part of project needs.

Qualifications

• DVM or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline; OR an M.S. in a relevant discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in veterinary product development required for candidates with an M.S. degree.
• Proven ability to contribute to clinical program strategy and translate scientific objectives into executable study designs; strong collaboration and communication skills to drive projects in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, implementation, and reporting of high-quality clinical studies for new companion animal vaccines and therapeutics, ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards (USDA, GLP, vGCP, VICH).
• Author study protocols and final reports, select and manage contract research facilities, and oversee all aspects of study execution to meet objectives.
• Develop and execute strategic clinical development plans, collaborating with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Marketing.
• Partner with Regulatory Affairs to prepare and present clinical data for submission to global regulatory agencies for product approvals.
• Drive quality and compliance within clinical programs, contribute to process improvements, and stay current with industry trends.
