Job summary

Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Companion Animal Hospital seeks a General Practice Veterinary Assistant. This part-time role includes weekends and holidays, with an hourly pay range of $20.75 to $26.00 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with animals or kennel/vet environments preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle animals with varying behavior.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for appointments, obtaining medical histories and documentation.
• Assist with medical and surgical procedures.
• Provide daily care including feeding, grooming, and hygiene of patients.
• Prepare and sterilize surgical equipment.
• Administer medications and vaccinations.
• Maintain accurate medical records and client communication.
• Support a compassionate, safe, and clean hospital environment.
• Schedule appointments and procedures.
