Job summary

Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Coast Guard Sector Houston/Galveston Waterways Management Division seeks a Supervisory Vessel Traffic Services Operations and Training Manager.

The role oversees cargo movements, traffic planning, and ship scheduling to ensure safe and efficient channel operations in the Houston area. Qualified candidates have a GS-13 level, extensive vessel traffic management knowledge, and supervisory experience over Vessel Traffic Specialists.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge in vessel traffic management principles and operations

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise cargo or bulk movements including embarkation/debarkation, loading/discharge, and sailing schedules
• Formulate marine transportation itineraries, traffic plans, and budgets
• Supervise Vessel Traffic Specialists and other personnel in Vessel Traffic Service Center operations
