Qualifications

  • Prior tanker vessel operations experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of tanker voyages, cargo operations, terminals, and port operations.
  • Deck officer / licensed mariner background is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of assigned tanker vessels.
  • Coordinate vessel schedules, port calls, cargo operations, bunkering, and voyage requirements.
  • Maintain regular communication with Masters, agents, terminals, charterers, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor vessel performance, voyage progress, and operational issues.
  • Review voyage instructions and ensure vessels are prepared for upcoming port and cargo operations.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and help minimize delays and off-hire.
  • Coordinate closely with commercial, technical, and marine teams.
  • Support safe, efficient, and cost-effective vessel operations.

Job description

Seeking an experienced Vessel Operator to join the Houston office of an established international tanker company.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of tanker vessels, working closely with Masters, agents, charterers, terminals, and internal commercial and technical teams to ensure voyages are executed safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Manage day-to-day operations of assigned tanker vessels
  • Coordinate vessel schedules, port calls, cargo operations, bunkering, and voyage requirements
  • Maintain regular communication with Masters, agents, terminals, charterers, and other stakeholders
  • Monitor vessel performance, voyage progress, and operational issues
  • Review voyage instructions and ensure vessels are prepared for upcoming port and cargo operations
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and help minimize delays and off-hire
  • Coordinate closely with commercial, technical, and marine teams

What We’re Looking For
  • Prior tanker vessel operations experience is required
  • Strong understanding of tanker voyages, cargo operations, terminals, and port operations
  • Previous experience sailing aboard tankers is highly preferred
  • Deck officer / licensed mariner background is a strong plus
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple vessels, voyages, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable communicating directly with vessel Masters and shoreside stakeholders
