The Opportunity

Some people manage a jobsite. Great Superintendents own it.

Alpha Inc. is looking for an experienced Superintendent for Alpha Vertical who knows how to take a set of plans, a schedule, a crew, and a hundred moving pieces—and turn them into a project everyone is proud to put their name on.

This is not a clipboard-from-the-trailer kind of role.

We need a field leader who is visible, decisive, organized, and accountable. Someone who sees problems before they become delays, sets the pace without sacrificing safety or quality, and earns the respect of craft professionals, subcontractors, project teams, inspectors, and clients.

You’ll own day-to-day field execution on assigned vertical construction projects—from mobilization through closeout—while partnering closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.

Your job is simple to describe and demanding to execute: lead the field, protect the plan, develop the people, and deliver.

About Alpha Inc.

Founded and grown in Hawai?i, Alpha Inc. is a locally owned construction and infrastructure company built around doing meaningful work, developing great people, and delivering for the communities we call home.

At Alpha, our values aren't words for the breakroom wall. They're expectations for how we show up:

Leading with Heart – Create a safe, productive, and respectful environment where people can do their best work.

Strength in Unity – One project. One team. Field, office, subcontractors, clients, and partners pulling in the same direction.

Alpha Mentality – Take ownership. Solve problems. Stay disciplined. Finish what you start.

As Superintendent, you set the tone on the jobsite. Your crew should know what Alpha stands for because they see it in the way you lead.

What You’ll Own
Run the Field

You’ll lead daily field operations for assigned vertical construction projects and keep the job moving safely, efficiently, and according to plan.

You'll provide clear direction, coaching, and accountability to Foremen, craft professionals, and subcontractors; establish expectations; monitor productivity; and build a jobsite where teamwork and performance go hand in hand.

And you won't just manage today's crew—you'll help build tomorrow's leaders by mentoring field personnel and developing people who are ready for greater responsibility.

Own Safety—Every Day

At Alpha, safety isn't paperwork. It's leadership.

You'll enforce Alpha's safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements while leading daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard discussions.

When you see an unsafe condition or behavior, you address it. Immediately.

You'll maintain an organized, compliant jobsite and continually look for ways to raise the bar on safe execution.

Protect the Schedule

A strong Superintendent doesn't spend the day reacting. You plan ahead.

You'll maintain an accurate six-week look-ahead schedule, keeping subcontractors, crews, project stakeholders, milestones, and resource requirements aligned.

You'll coordinate site logistics, equipment, deliveries, inspections, manpower, and daily activities so work flows instead of stalls.

See a constraint coming? Get ahead of it.

You'll work closely with the PM/PE team to communicate progress, manpower needs, risks, and priorities—and keep field execution aligned with the overall project plan.

Build It Right

You'll know the drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and project requirements—and make sure what's being built in the field matches them.

You'll identify constructability issues, conflicts, and deficiencies early and work with the project team to find practical solutions.

From inspections and corrective work to punch lists and commissioning, quality has your fingerprints on it.

Know What's Happening on Your Job

You'll maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, progress photos, field documentation, timekeeping information, and other required records.

You'll track material usage, equipment needs, subcontractor performance, and site conditions while keeping project leadership informed about progress and emerging issues.

Bad news doesn't get better with age. Great Superintendents communicate early and solve fast.

Lead the People Around You

You'll build productive working relationships with owners, clients, design teams, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and Alpha team members.

You'll represent Alpha professionally during project meetings, job walks, coordination sessions, and planning discussions.

That means holding people accountable without losing the human side of leadership.

Make the Next Project Better Than the Last

You'll contribute beyond today's schedule by supporting preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, mobilization, procurement coordination, material planning, site inventory management, and closeout.

You'll also help identify better ways to improve safety, quality, productivity, and field operations.

Because "that's how we've always done it" isn't an Alpha Mentality.

What You Bring

We're not looking for someone who simply checks the experience boxes.

We're looking for someone who's been tested in the field and knows how to lead when the plan meets reality.

Experience & Technical Capability
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive vertical construction experience, including significant field supervision.
  • Proven experience leading commercial, institutional, industrial, or mixed-use vertical construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building systems, sequencing, materials, and field operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead Foremen, craft professionals, and multiple subcontractors simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, manpower planning, site logistics, quality control, and safety programs.
  • Proficiency with tablets, field reporting systems, project management software such as Procore, and Microsoft Office.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred, or ability to obtain.
  • Valid driver's license required.
The Leadership We're Looking For

You don't need someone standing over you telling you what comes next.

You see it, own it, and act on it.

You're organized enough to manage the details without losing sight of the big picture.

You can make decisions under pressure, communicate clearly, and bring people together when personalities, priorities, and schedules collide.

You hold high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and professionalism—and you're willing to hold yourself to those standards first.

Most importantly, you embody:

Leading with Heart – You respect the people doing the work and understand that strong leadership and high accountability belong together.

Strength in Unity – You know great projects aren't built by lone wolves. You create alignment between field crews, subcontractors, project teams, and clients.

Alpha Mentality – You don't walk past problems. You own outcomes, find solutions, and keep pushing the project forward.

Why Alpha?

At Alpha Inc., you're not coming aboard just to fill a Superintendent seat.

You're joining a Hawai?i-grown organization where the work matters, the standard is high, and strong field leaders have the opportunity to make a visible impact.

We want people who take pride in what they build, invest in the people around them, and want their next project to be better than their last.

If you're an A-player, you'll recognize the difference.
