Vertical Short Drama Editor

Location: Remote or Los Angeles, CA

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Overview:

AltaTV is looking for a creative and fast-paced Video Editor who specializes in vertical short-form drama. The ideal candidate has edited hit microdramas or vertical short dramas. You have a strong understanding of the pacing, understands how to drive engagement through editing, pacing, sound design.

Responsibilities:

• Occasionally serve as an on-set editor, collaborating closely with the platform team and director to ensure creative alignment.

• Edit 9:16 vertical short dramas at high speed and high volume

• Cut narrative episodes (30 sec to 2 min) with compelling pacing, emotional rhythm, and clear story arcs

• Incorporate music, SFX, captions, and transitions with platform-native sensibility

• Collaborate with writers, directors, and producers to implement creative notes across multiple rounds of revisions

• Prepare versions for platform delivery (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts)

• Troubleshoot edit challenges (audio sync, pacing issues, continuity fixes, etc.)

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of editing experience, with a strong portfolio of vertical content (required)

• Experience cutting narrative or scripted content for TikTok, Reels, or Shorts (hits or viral content is a big plus)

• Proficient in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro, with working knowledge of After Effects, CapCut, and Frame.io
