Job description

Position Summary

The Vertical CNC Machinist may operate a Hass VF-5 or Toyoda VF2090 using Fanuc Controls.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Set up and operate machines, including adjustment and/or replacement of tooling, guides, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Inspect parts being produced.
  • Support safety and quality programs by following all rules and established processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to operate forklifts and cranes.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
  • Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders.
  • Ability to use measuring tools like tape measures, calipers, dial indicators, and micrometers.
  • Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.
  • Ability to convert metric to English units.
  • Provide high-quality work to all internal and external customers.
  • Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines.
  • Speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. repeatedly throughout a shift.
  • Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop for long periods.
  • Ability to walk 2-5 miles during a shift.
  • Good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses.
  • Ability to coordinate hand and finger movements for manipulating objects of precision.

Subject to environmental conditions indoors and outdoors, including exposure to changing temperatures, loud noises, vibrations, and potential hazards such as moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, high heat, chemicals, fumes, dust, gases, and poor ventilation. There may also be exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
