Job summary

Intown Animal Hospital, part of Western Veterinary Partners, seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support clients and patients across hospital care. You will assist in exams, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures, handling patients safely and maintaining records with care.

This versatile role offers a 4/10 schedule with both full-time and part-time options at the Morningside/Midtown locations in Atlanta, GA.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant or related role.
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats.
• Experience with radiology, phlebotomy, SQ injections, lab sample collection, and patient histories.
• Experience with surgical preparation, aseptic technique, and assisting during procedures.
• Accurate medical record documentation with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgeries, and dentistry.
• Handle and restrain patients safely during care.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist recovery as directed.
• Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiography.
• Maintain accurate records and treatment documentation.
• Review plans and discharge instructions with clients clearly.
• Build positive client relationships through education and service.
• Keep exam rooms and spaces clean and organized.
