Job summary

Mukilteo Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. This role offers a versatile day with opportunities in patient care, client service, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant or related role preferred.
Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats.
Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures.
Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols.
Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry.
Provide safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care.
Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately.
Maintain clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces.
