Job summary

Indian River Central School District has an ongoing need for Substitutes in all support areas, including cleaners, food service, nursing, aides, clerks and lifeguards. Substitutes may work districtwide and in multiple buildings, with the ability to accept or reject opportunities and gain valuable experience while familiarizing themselves with district policies.

Position start date is immediate and continues for the 2026-27 school year, with an anticipated ongoing need.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance through New York State Education Department.
• Civil Service application completed.
• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Good communication skills, collaborative, and hardworking.
• Good team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide substitution across support areas (Cleaners, Food Service, Nursing, Teacher Aides, Office Aides, Clerks, Secretaries, Lifeguards).
• Substitutes may work in a variety of areas depending on skills and district needs.
• Substitutes can accept or reject opportunities and gain experience while learning district policies and procedures.
