Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• High school diploma required; CMA/RMA preferred.
• Current BLS certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Follows hospital policy for patient safety and infection prevention.
• Obtains vitals, EKGs, and medical history; documents in patient chart.
• Routes messages and communicates with care teams regarding patient questions.
• Acts as liaison between physician/APP and patient; communicates test results.
• Assists with medication renewals and administration as ordered.
• Performs point-of-care testing and specimen collection.
• Schedules procedures and completes prior authorizations and referrals.
• Maintains exam area supplies and assists patients with MyChart enrollment.
