Ironstate Properties in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a full-time Floater Maintenance Technician to join our residential property management team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairs within common areas and apartments, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and appliances, ensuring safety and code compliance.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, inspections, basic repairs, installing appliances, and assisting with renovations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification is a plus
• 1-3 years of experience working as a Maintenance Technician or in a related field.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance maintenance, and snow removal.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Address basic repairs, including fixing broken locks and filling gaps in walls.
• Report any issues to the maintenance manager.
• Install appliances and equipment as needed.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems, such as ventilation.
• Ensure the functionality of safety systems, such as fire alarms.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals during renovation projects.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing various building systems and equipment including plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop and grounds equipment, and HVAC systems.
• Demonstrate proficient knowledge in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance.
• Respond promptly to residents' requests as assigned.
• Perform carpentry work and assist with snow removal when necessary.
• Adhere to all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations, and practice safe work habits.
• Adhere to the company's Uniform Dress Code while on duty and maintain a neat and tidy appearance while on the property outside of working hours.
