Responsibilities

• Performs all construction, carpentry and maintenance items and projects that fall under the maintenance department.
• Repairs and/or replaces defective equipment including door closets, seals, windows, door hardware and similar equipment.
• Reviews specifications and blueprints to prepare project layout and determine materials required.
• Demolishes, removes and replaces damaged or worn-out parts of structures.
• Constructs walls using wood/metal studs and sheetrock/plywood.
• Installs suspended acoustic ceiling tiles with metal grid systems.
• Measures, cuts and shapes materials using measuring tapes and power tools.
• Repairs and replaces flooring materials.
• Constructs miscellaneous millwork.
• Operates the college's work order system (CMMS).
• Prepares work order material by pulling from stock to meet requirements.
• Communicates with contractors and vendors as needed.
• Adheres to safety and health regulations.
• Operates and conducts routine preventive maintenance on College vehicles.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
