Reporting to the General Services department, the role involves collaboration with facilities staff, contractors, and County employees, with responsibilities spanning routine maintenance to repair and installation tasks. Physical requirements are substantial and safety procedures must be followed.

Qualifications

• Journey level knowledge of the principles and techniques of the several skilled trades required of the position.
• Thorough knowledge of the methods, tools, and equipment used in the assigned trades.
• Thorough knowledge of safety regulations, occupational hazards, and related safety precautions in the work.
• Skill in the use and care of assigned tools and equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair problems and plan and organize appropriate corrective action.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to exercise independent initiative.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and other County employees.

Responsabilités

• Performs basic and journey level trades construction and repair work in various trades for buildings, facilities, and equipment.
• Checks HVAC equipment daily; monitors temperatures; cleans coils and maintains systems.
• Assists with lighting repairs; installs electrical fixtures, switches, outlets, and wires.
• Repairs, remodels and replaces building structures and offices; carpentry tasks and cabinet work.
• Performs plumbing work; maintains fixtures and repairs leaks.
• May assist with internal telephone wiring and intercom systems; data cables.
