Job summary

AdventHealth Davenport in Florida is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across procedures and examinations. You will interview patients, record vital signs, and prepare treatment rooms under supervision while ensuring accuracy and empathy.

Responsibilities include clerical duties, supplies management, documentation of encounters, and collaboration with the healthcare team to deliver safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
• Certification as CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA (required).

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
• Assists with treatments ordered by the provider under supervision.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Performs basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Orders and stocks supplies, ensuring a clean and orderly environment.
• Documents provider encounters with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribes patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications. Provides patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to perform procedures and treatments. Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions and medical procedures.
• Ensures compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
