Job summary

Henrico County Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide instruction in the assigned school, delivering lessons and managing classroom activities on short or long-term assignments. Minimum requirements include 60 semester hours or 2 years of experience with children, and completion of required child abuse

Qualifications

• Must have 60 semester hours of college credit or 2 years experience working with children.
• Must complete Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition and Intervention training.
• Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds and assist/ restrain students when required.

Responsibilities

• Implements teacher-created lesson plans or collaborates with a team to generate lesson plans.
• Provides instruction to students in the assigned school.
• Assesses student learning using multiple tools and adjusts instruction accordingly.
• Plans, prepares and delivers curriculum content.
• Maintains order within the classroom according to district guidelines.
• Collaborates with faculty in planning and delivering instruction.
• Communicates with parents, administration, and staff as needed.
