Job summary

Synstack Technologies in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a highly experienced imaging validation scientist to design and execute validation methods for vision and sensing AI features in consumer electronics.

You will build lab setups, automate tests with Python, analyze image quality metrics, and report findings to cross-functional teams. The role requires a Master’s degree and 6–10 years of relevant industrial experience in ISP, CV or image quality testing.

Qualifications

• Masters degree with substantial imaging/vision background and industry experience.
• Hands-on validation of consumer imaging systems against objective metrics.
• Experience with image quality protocols, charts and evaluation tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and build validation methods for performance across vision and sensing AI use cases.
• Build and own the test capability: lab setups, lighting, targets, fixtures, and calibration.
• Develop Python automation for repeatable measurements, data capture and reporting.
• Propose measurement methods, pass/fail criteria, and data volume requirements.
• Investigate and root-cause issues on pre-production hardware with actionable reports.
• Validate multi-camera performance under environmental and system stress.
• Plan and execute system-level validation across photo, video and streaming capture.
• Document methods and results to ensure repeatability and defendability.
