Job summary

Ogan Hospitality is seeking a dedicated Venue Host to serve as the primary on-site day-of representative for our event venues. You will open and close spaces, prepare areas, and support clients and vendors to ensure a seamless event experience.

The role requires exceptional attention to detail, outstanding customer service, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks. Travel to company venues may be required, and a proactive approach to problem-solving is essential.

Responsibilities

• Open and prepare assigned venue(s) prior to events.
• Unlock buildings and ensure lighting, climate controls, and building systems are operating properly.
• Complete venue walkthroughs to verify cleanliness, organization, and readiness.
• Prepare bridal suites, lounges, and guest spaces with stocked amenities and refreshments.
• Inspect restrooms and replenish supplies; set exterior signage and ensure parking and guest arrival areas are welcoming.
• Perform light housekeeping, sweeping, and general property maintenance to maintain presentation standards.
• Review event layouts and verify room setups match event diagrams and client expectations.
• Identify and resolve setup discrepancies before guest arrival.
• Welcome planners, vendors, and clients upon arrival.
• Serve as the on-site venue resource throughout the event and answer questions regarding operations and policies.
• Work with catering teams, rental vendors, DJs, photographers, and planners day-of to ensure smooth event execution.
• Monitor venue spaces throughout events to maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Restock restroom supplies and manage trash; adjust lighting, climate, and ambiance as needed.
• Ensure outdoor spaces remain clean, safe, and guest-ready; monitor policies including music curfews.
• Conduct final venue walkthroughs after each event and secure buildings and access points.

The Venue Host serves as the primary on-site day-of representative for our event venues, ensuring each property is guest-ready, welcoming, and operating smoothly throughout every event. This role is responsible for opening and closing venue spaces, preparing event areas, supporting clients and vendor partners day-of, monitoring the property during events, and restoring the venue to company standards afterward.

This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong customer service skills, the ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Venue Preparation

Open and prepare assigned venue(s) prior to events.

• Unlock buildings and event spaces and ensure all lighting, climate controls, and building systems are operating properly.
• Complete venue walkthroughs to verify cleanliness, organization, and readiness.

Prepare bridal suites, lounges, and guest spaces with stocked amenities and refreshments (as needed)

• Inspect restrooms and replenish supplies as needed.
• Set exterior signage and ensure parking and guest arrival areas are welcoming.
• Perform light housekeeping, sweeping, and general property maintenance to maintain presentation standards.

• Communicate any facility concerns or event issues promptly to leadership.

Event Oversight

• Monitor venue spaces throughout events to maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Restock restroom supplies and empty trash as needed.
• Adjust lighting, climate controls, and venue ambiance throughout the event.
• Ensure outdoor spaces remain clean, safe, and guest-ready.
• Monitor venue policies, including music curfews and property guidelines.
• Perform regular property walks to identify maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or guest needs.

Closing Responsibilities

• Conduct final venue walkthroughs after each event.
• Secure buildings, doors, and venue access points.
• Inspect the property for damage, lost items, or maintenance needs.
• Ensure client belongings are returned to the appropriate party.

Clean and reset venue spaces, restrooms, and suites for the next event (alongside catering staff)

• Restock venue supplies and amenities.
• Prepare guest welcome items or other event materials for upcoming events.
• Report maintenance concerns, inventory needs, and event notes to management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Schedule & Availability

Flexible schedule with availability to work as needed from a list of set dates, either opening or closing venue spaces.

Must be able to travel to company venues as assigned.

Compensation

This is a part-time hourly position. Pay rate range is $23-$25 per hour.
